Rescue Shelter and Lost Pet Services

Little Rescue on the Prairie is a shelter for the lost and homeless animals of Log Lane Village, Colorado. Each animal that comes to us gets medical attention, is spayed or neutered, and is then made available for adoption. We are primarily a shelter for cats, and we need more people to adopt cats and provide loving forever homes!

Little Rescue on the Prairie ENCOURAGES PEOPLE TO ADOPT A NEW BEST FRIEND DURING PETSMART CHARITIES NATIONAL ADOPTION WEEK July 21 – 27, 2025!

We received a partner grant to help more adoptable pets find people to love! Pets are family, and can bring hope, companionship and unconditional love to their people. Adopting a pet in need of a home can bring joy to people and also impact communities, alleviating strain on overcrowded shelters. PetSmart Charities connects adoption partners such as Little Rescue on the Prairie with local PetSmart stores to bring adoptable pets in for adoption events and meet and greets. These include cats of all ages, breeds, temperaments, and energy levels. Staff and volunteers are available to help make ideal matches considering lifestyle and other preferences such as energy levels, personalities, and pet sizes.

“Our local shelter and rescue partners are overflowing with animals looking for people to love. Adopting or fostering a pet not only enriches your life but is the best way to support your community and local partners like Little Rescue on the Prairie in their lifesaving work,” said Heidi Marston, director of pet placement at PetSmart Charities. “There is nothing like the unconditional love of a pet! Please stop by your neighborhood PetSmart store and meet your new best friend.” You can find out more information about this shelter by calling Danielle Daniels at (970)467-4396. Our Story

There was previously no animal shelter in Log Lane Village, so Danielle Lee Daniels started our organization. We provide shelter, adoption, and rescue services to the animals in our area. We are licensed as an animal shelter under the Colorado Department of Agriculture’s Pet Animal Care Facilities Act. We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Cats Are Our Mission

We are as strong as the community that holds us up, Log Lane Village, Colorado. Together, we can do more than we can do alone. Let’s bring our abilities and passions together. There are many ways to join us and support our mission. Contact us to find out more about volunteer opportunities, events, and ways that you can get our message to your friends and family.

We Need Volunteers

We are looking for people who are committed to helping our animals. We currently need help with daily cleaning, light construction work, animal photography, and cat and kitten socialization. Just 2 hours makes a big difference! Think you would be a good fit? Call or text 970-467-4396 for more information!

Help our cause by donating

Your support and contributions will enable us to rescue, spay, neuter, and give medical care to stray animals. It costs an average of $200 per homeless animal to get them healthy and adoptable. Your generous donation will fund our mission.   Little Rescue on the Prairie is a registered nonprofit organization 501(c)(3), so all donations are tax deductible.

We are grateful to the Bissell Pet Foundation for their support of our shelter!
